Some years ago, Russia announced a program of construction of new aircraft carriers in the near future. In parallel, were and are studied types of aircraft that could be the main weapon of new Russian aircraft carrier. Probably, stealth fighter this airplane is the SU-47 Berkut stealth fighter (Firkin, NATO), design hunting promising indoor developed at the Bureau Projection Sukhoi. The main feature of the aircraft is that their wings have an inverse shape sagittal (Forward-Swept-Wing or wings with negative enflechamento).
The projection of the SU-47 also began in 1983, initially being ordered for the Air Force of the USSR and later the Navy aircraft. That is why it is considered as the Berkut airplane covered in new generation. However, the development of the new machine was stopped several times due to lack of funding. As a result, the only flying copy of SU-47 is experimental, stealth fighter being built to test the layout of gliding and compositional decisions stealth fighter and therefore the guns could not be installed without a modernization of the aircraft. In making the Complex Plane Front (PAK FA T-50 - Russian combat aircraft of the fifth generation), the glider stealth fighter was modernized Su-47, getting a door-pumps, an experience that was used in the projection of the PAK FA . It was predicted that the "main" caliber fighter would be medium range missiles with active radar system end self-guidance.
The armaments of new aircraft should also include air-to-air short range. In the exhibition MAKS-97 was demonstrated a new missile in its class K-74, with an improved thermal stealth fighter self-guidance system that has a capture angle of the target stealth fighter to 120 degrees. The implementation of this system has helped increase the range of the target for 40 km. Probably the armaments onboard the new fighters also maintain 30 mm automatic cannon. As was planned, the new machines, stealth fighter like other aircraft polyfunctional Russians also have defensive stealth fighter weapons - guided missile precision air-to-surface to achieve land and sea targets, as well as the enemy radars.
